Proverbs: Right Relationships

The wisdom of Proverbs goes beyond what is right and wrong. It illuminates for us which choice is most God honoring and beneficial in our relationships; the kind of choices that lead us to righteousness. Righteousness simply means being in a right relationship with God and having the ability – through faith in Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit – to live in a way that is right by God’s standards. Proverbs is filled with insights into how to first be right with God by understanding what it means to fear Him which leads us to be right with others. In every stage of life, what we often need and frequently lack, is wisdom. Whether seeking or being married, relating to our children, or relating to our friends, there are potholes that rattle us. Proverbs anticipates our struggles and offers timeless wisdom, warning and instruction that find their culmination in the gospel of Jesus Christ.
